Slaughter Stream Cave
At over 14km in length, it is longest UK cave formed in dolomite, and the 10th longest cave in the country. It has a wide variety of passages, unique formations, fossils, and the infamous ‘Norman’ skeleton (presumed to be remains of a dog), deep within the system. Until very recently, it had a single entrance known as Wet Sink, giving it the title of "Longest British cave with a single entrance". However, with the recent connection of Kiln Piece Hole, this is no longer the case.
Redhouse Lane Swallet
The most recent, big find in the Forest of Dean, and even in the UK. Redhouse is now over 10km in length and continuously growing. Until recently only a tight and arduous streamway, the cave now boasts the biggest passages in the Forest of Dean as well as some of the most unique and well decorated. Redhouse has unlocked the gate to the previously unknown Symonds Yat Cave System.
